What are the positives?<\/p>\n
Anything that increases the common good\u2014for yourself and for others\u2014or reduces pain and suffering.<\/p>\n
The point is not sacrifice or self\u2011denial. If you build a life of dignity, you have added to the positives. And dignity is never selfish; it remains attentive to society and to its health and growth.<\/p>\n
If my success and victory depend on lies, collusion, bribery, or deceiving others, then I believe it has nothing to do with our subject and belongs among the negatives.<\/p>\n
And the negatives are anything\u2014any person, action, or issue\u2014that increases pain, harm, and problems for yourself and for society.<\/p>\n
