Fortunately,
Iran and the United States have agreed on a two‑week ceasefire.
Now each of them claims that it is the one who won this war.
War has had no winner and never will.
Iran and its people have suffered damage to their resources and infrastructure—
serious damage.
Lives and property that had been earned with great hardship were lost,
and minds and spirits were hurt and traumatized.
Indeed,
as always, the losers of war are the people—
on both sides.
This foolishness should have ended much sooner,
and this news brings some relief,
although
the fact that malevolent forces rule several countries
is bitter and painful, and it seems unlikely that their harm will be lifted from humanity anytime soon.
Hope for peace and prosperity
for all people—
for a free and flourishing Iran,
away from corruption and inhumanity,
and free from death sentences.
